Playing in the Snow, and Gel

Joshua named the snow angel that I made Kaylynn, he also likes to call me Kaylynn instead of Mommy which totally bugs me, but I am trying not to make a big deal out of it.
We decided to name the snowman Joshua!
I can't make snowmen bigger than Joshua, but I think the snowman is taller than Emily!
Gel Mask on Harrison
Gel Mask on Joshua

We had a snowy Easter, and Joshua and I had fun playing in the snow. We built a snowman, my third for this winter, and I usually only like to build one a winter. But I guess I can add that to my resume "Expert Snowman Builder". Martha and Chris gave the boys this cool Gel, which they put over their eyes for cool masks. Other news: Emily can crawl. On Easter Sunday, we did the Egg Hunt on Saturday, she found an Egg that no one found, opened it and quickly put the candy in her mouth foil and all. I'm not organized enough to have a mobile baby. Hopefully we will all survive including Emily!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Inside the house, the kids enjoyed their Easter Eggs!

Joshua had his own Easter Egg hunt outside!

Joshua was the only one that wanted to do the Easter Egg hunt outside in the snow, all the other kids stayed in the safety of the house. Our older brother is Santa Claus, so Harrison asked who the Easter Bunny is, so Mike told him it was Mommy. The secret is out, and I am now the Easter Bunny!

We had a fun Easter, and with no meetings on Easter Sunday, we were able to get to church on time! My sister Martha and her husband Chris came for the weekend, so we had a lot of fun doing an Egg hunt. We had hoped to go to a local Easter Egg hunt, but the Friday before Easter we got a huge snowstorm. The snowstorm delayed Mike getting home, but we were still able to do the Easter Egg hunt. Joshua and I also played outside in the snow.

Easter is Coming!

Emily's Beautiful Dress!
Decorating Eggs--The boys loved it!
Harrison very studious!

In preparation for Easter, I dug out the boys old Easter outfits, and they still fit!!! So no new Easter clothes for the boys, but Emily got a brand new dress! Isn't she beautiful? We also did our annual Easter Family Home Evening where we have 12 eggs each with a symbol of the Easter Story, and we tell the Easter Story as we open each egg. Harrison remembered that the last egg was empty. The first year that we did this he was really disturbed that the last egg was empty (symbolic of the empty tomb), but this time he remembered! I told the boys that next year they would only get to open four and I asked why. Harrison thought that the Easter Bunny would come and help us open the eggs. It's amazing what he learns at preschool, ironic that he goes to a Lutheran Preschool don't you think. The boys had a lot of fun doing the eggs, and two dozen eggs were not quite enough eggs to decorate.

Harrison Tricked Everyone, Even Mommy!

Our boys love locking our bedroom, and then opening it up with the key. So tonight Harrison took the key and pretended to put it down the heating vent. He said, "I put the key in a really safe spot, so Joshua wouldn't get it." Joshua started to cry, Mike opened the vent to see if he could find the key, and I proceded to tell Harrison that putting things down the vent is a time out. Well two seconds later he comes into the room with a huge grin on his face, holding the key and yelling, "Surprise". We thought it was pretty amazing that he could come up with the joke, and especially nice that he only made us think it was a joke for a little while. Maybe I need to look at the entire situation before I "jump" to conclusions.

Mr. Mom did Great!

This past week Mike had vacation, and I worked on getting my observation hours in at the two elementary schools. I loved it! Mike did a great job with the kids, and the house is about as clean as ever. (which is not very!) We did do some fun things during his vacation. On Monday, for Harrison's birthday we went to an indoor waterpark. We had fun. These are my favorite pictures of the boys relaxing in the chairs watching Michael Jackson videos. Mike also took them to the City for a fun filled day. I keep forgetting to mention (now that it is official), that after three wonderful years I am no longer the Primary President. I feel very honored that I got to work with a bunch of wonderful children, and with wonderful counselors. Mike is now the Elder's Quorum President, and we have survived one week with only one phone call. (The phone call was actually trying to track down a cell phone number for the Bishop, but Mike was home, so he was able to help out.) Although I love going to school, and am excited about teaching, I was also feeling conflicted about leaving my kids so much. I am very grateful for all the wonderful people that help me with my kids, but still miss them. Something that helped me in going back to school was that I was reminded that my dear Grandmother also went back to school to become a certified teacher. She was a great woman with lots of strength that always put her family first. If I can carry on that tradition, I will be very proud. I tried my best while Mike was the stay at home parent to help out around the house and be with the children. And somehow, Emily would always wait until I got home to have a poopy diaper. Have a great day!

Mommy, Can you Change my pizza?

Joshua did not want to eat pizza tonight, so we told him that he needed to try a bite, then he could eat strawberry cereal. When he sat down at the table, he said, "Mommy can you change my pizza?" A little confused, I asked, "How do you do that?" Joshua responded, "Well you take away my plate, get a bowl, pour strawberry cereal into it, pour in the milk (sound effects included) and put it down in front of me." Mike and I decided if our kids can be clever we will reward their good behavior, so yes, I can change pizza!

Lukes's Birthday

Luke turns five tomorrow, but we had his birthday party on Saturday. We had a really nice group of kids, that just played together. We only had to supply of picked up house, pizza, cake and ice cream. Luke said he wanted a transformer party, but we really should have had a Star Wars party. They got out all six light sabors that we now own, and ran around the house upstairs and downstairs playing the entire time. Then near the end of the party one of the boys wanted to go outside. So we got out the sleds, made a rebel base, and had a great time. Luke has some great friends! Thank you everyone for coming to our party. We love you Luke and glad that you are five!
