I Love You Just a Little Bit

Joshua only loves me a little but, but he says it with so much love that it reminds me of having faith of a mustard seed. So after I give him a big hug, he holds up his fingers and says, "I love you just a little bit." He only loves me three fingers instead of ten (ten is a lot), and because I love him to the milky way, the sun, the moon, and mars and back again, he only loves me to the earth and moon and back again. That is only a little bit if you compare it to loving him through the whole universe!
On the other hand, Harrison told me that the only fault I had as a mother was that I screamed to much. Now, I don't screem, but I have been raising my voice more often than I should. So I told him that I would work on it, and he said that I better work on not screeming, rather than work on screeming more. He has agreed that I am doing much better on the not screeming!

Planting Flowers

While I was at school, Mike and the boys planted flowers. It looks great, and I am excited to see how it will grow every year. It was so nice to come home and see the flowers planted and the front yard landscaped. I've been trying without success to do it the past three summers, and Mike accomplished it in two day! Thank you!

Brotherly Love!

OK , OK, this just made me laugh because it got caught on film! Harrison loves taking pictures of Joshua, and Joshua hates that Harrison takes pictures of him. So while Harrison was taking Joshua's picture, Joshua was hunting for scizzors to cut the string of Harrison's balloon. Did it work? Yes! Harrison stopped taking pictures of Joshua. Luckily they made up, and of course had to have lots of time to play together for the rest of the evening. Does anyone remember when Clark and I ate the flowers. No use denying it. It's too bad that Harrison couldn't see Joshua's determination while he was snapping the photos!

I Fixed the Sandal!

Here is Joshua's favorite sandal, that was very very broken, and I fixed it. I would have just thrown them away, but Joshua was so sad when they were broken. It reminded me of when my dad kept fixing my favorite sandals all summer. So even though my dad doesn't read the blog, thank you dad for doing that and being a great example. If anyone need advice on how to glue back together a sandal, just call me!

Backwards Day

Have you ever had a backwards day? Well we did. We had hotdogs for breakfast and pancakes for dessert! The boys played outside while it was raining even though it was perfectly sunny earlier in the day. I asked the kids if they wanted to wear their clothes since they wore their jammies all day. They thought that was a great idea. Maybe we should do our bedtime routine backwards? Fall alseep first, then read stories, brush our teeth ect? I don't think I would wake them up. More likely, I will fall asleep before all the kids and Harrison will fall asleep last. (Emily will of course be in her crib, I just tend to fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow from exhaustion where as the kids aren't exhausted!)

Neopolitan Girl

Emily wears her brothers coats and pajamas because her mommy loves to buy her dresses. Here is the latest! Just as a side note, I also bought a dress in Abbey's size, and Abbey actually wore it, but it just wasn't Abbey. She thought it was too puffy. But you know how much Abbey loves Emily because she wore the dress so they could match. Thank you Abbey! I don't think we will ever get pictures of them together, so you will just have to imagine!

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

I came home from work on Monday, to find kite making in progress! I've been wanting to make kites for the boys forever. I mention it to Mike, and he gets the supplies, designs the kites, and lets the boys decorate them. Harrison loved flying the kite. He even thought that the kite would pull him up to the sky. Every single day, he wants to go outside and fly his kite, but we have only had rain. Joshua, on the other hand, had the unlucky experience of his kite breaking. I did some research and bought some sled kites. They are supposed to be the easiest kites for kids to fly! I hope that Joshua will have a better experience when the new kites arrive.

Emily is crawling around and following her big brothers everywhere! She loves to talk, and every night she sits on my lap and we talk about the day. I think she will do this every night before she goes to sleep.

Harrison is still very tenative at school, and is very good at paying attention and keeping quiet. We read our first chapter book together, No Talking. He told me he was going to try not talking at school the next day. I really don't know that the teachers would have notices, but I am still glad that he changed his mind once we went to school! I can't believe that I will register him for kindergarten on Saturday. How do they grow so fast.

Joshua prays very quickly in a high pitched voice that I can't understand him. But after the prayer, he always tells me the things that he prays for. He loves to read books, and his reading consists of memorizing books. I think he has about ten books in his repitoire.

As for the parents, Mike is still flying the "friendly" skies. And I only have three more weeks of teaching and taking classes. I've been teaching Advanced Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher! I've really enjoyed the class that I've been taking and have been working with two wonderful teachers. I''ve been placed in both 1st and 4th grade. The first grader are gifted, and it is amazing the things they can come up with. I've enjoyed working with both because they are both excellent teachers, but have different approaches. I wish that more of my education was "field" based rather than classroom based, but I guess I would have to become a department head at a university to change the system. Thanks to Jennie, Mike and Cheryl for taking wonderful care of the children while I am working!
