Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

Chocolate Chip Pancakes--awesome! Cutting a hole in the middle of the pancake--awesome!

Those three words describe spending time with my oldest son Luke. My sisters have been in town, so we have been spending a lot of time at their cousins house. Last night on the way home he was being very obnoxious! He got a time out when he got home, and many of his toys in time out--but usually his poor behavior comes from lack of mommy attention. This morning we did mommy-me time. We went to the mall--and everything was awesome! Being able to roll down the windows--awesome! Going in the glass elevator--awesome! Playing at the mall together--awesome! Getting a snack wrap from McDonalds--awesome! We had an awesome time. He says awesome all the time--and I guess that would describe him--AWESOME!

Isn't it crazy how fast they start acting out when they don't get the attention they feel they need. I have a friend whose son is really great if he's getting a lot of her attention, but if she had other things that need to get done/ demand a lot of her focus he starts acting out. It really explains to me a lot -coming from a teacher's point of view.

I've really noticed a difference with how mommy and me time contributes to my kids' good behaviour...(not to mention sleep!)

What a great other you are to realize why he was acting out.
